Guys, I just wrote the following essay and posted it to my g+ page. I wanted to give you guys second option on it if you would like to throw it up on the 'Brain. Eventually I may go ahead and put it on FB knowing that it will cause a shitstorm of stupid. Anyway, you have permission to use it in it's entirety if you so desire.
Oh, I do, I do! And shitstorm be damned but please try not to cause any fucking inflammation of ignorant right-wing religionists over an even more ignorant slight of their imaginary invisible sky monster.
In the immediate aftermath of the criminal attacks of IX/XI, I heard from a number of people that I and the others who thought Bush to be criminally incompetent should put our feelings aside and stand behind the president because the nation had been attacked. I heard this from some of my conservative friends but I heard it more often from my (allegedly) Progressive friends. I heard it a bunch of times. While I thought it was a load of crap and I never did change my position, I did come to the conclusion that attacking the president right then would hurt rather than help any chance I had of bringing others around to my position and that it would be incredibly insensitive to those who were directly, physically affected by the attacks.
Now, compare that with the conclusion that Mitt Rmoney has apparently come to. A small group of violent, unintelligent, kneejerk, reactivists used the actions of a couple of incredibly stupid Americans (who were simply exercising their right to free speech regardless of the fact that someone else's blood was likely to be spilled as a result, as cowards are wont to do.) to attack American sovereign soil and citizens. They attacked America and Mitt Rmoney comes to the conclusion that he should piggyback on their attack from the national stage to further his political career.
Really? Seriously? The best the GOP could come up with to lead the nation is a guy who to all appearances has neither the sensitivity nor intelligence of the crowd that wanted me to be quiet or I, who made the decision to 'call a rain delay' and resume the game on a later date? The reich-wing wants to elect a guy who will endeavor to escalate every minor, if bloody, insult to our nation regardless of how many of our military and other Americans outside (and inside for that matter) the U.S. are put at risk of injury and/or death?
Somebody needs to tell the Mormon Moron that it takes more than gracefully graying hair to look presidential. Somebody needs to tell him that being presidential sometimes means considering the bigger picture.
I would add that Willard Rmoney sees "the big picture" as it's his destiny as The Chosen One to become POTUS under the White Horse Prophecy, and he knows, just plain knows, that he doesn't have to do a damn thing correctly to get it except pander for the Dead End Quarter vote. Willard knows this is true because he's been told it all his life. After all, how could the prophecy of a cult which says the Garden Of Eden was in Missouri be wrong?
More on that here. Liquid alert!:
I would also ask Blogger-in-Chief Emeritus Fixer to sign CAFKIA's ass up to be a direct contributor to the Brain if he would like to do so. He's smarter than I am and I need help!
