Walk Score

Go check out Walk Score just for fun:

We help homebuyers, renters, and real estate agents find houses and apartments in great neighborhoods. Walk Score shows you a map of what's nearby and calculates a Walk Score for any property. Buying a house in a walkable neighborhood is good for your health and good for the environment.

I checked out my own address of course. Even though we have no sidewalks or street lights, my location got 46 out of 100 for having some businesses not too far away. They list some that aren't there any more, and left out some new ones, so they're slightly out of date. Also, they don't point out that it's all downhill going, and all uphill coming back.

The only other address I tried belongs to a guy I know in beautiful downtown Lawn Guyland whose 'hood got 25, although he has a deli/grocery (if it's really there) a block away and many more businesses a little farther away.
