I'm more of a Dia de los Muertos* man myself. It's all about sugar skulls and tamales to be consumed with late loved ones, but I think the symbolic pumpkins and calaveras may share their origins.
*Ironically enough, occurs this year on election day. RIP, Repugs, at least in California.
Man, that's scaaaary!
