(New York - WABC, June 1, 2006) - Thirteen-year-old Katherine Klose, from Spring Lake, New Jersey, won the 2006 Scripps National Spelling Bee Thursday night.
Klose correctly spelled the word 'ursprache' to claim the title of America's best speller, televised live on ABC.
