Quote of the Day II

Paul Krugman in a column about the thankfully doomed supercommittee.

So the supercommittee will fail — and that’s good.

For one thing, history tells us that the Republican Party would renege on its side of any deal as soon as it got the chance. [...]

They'll try to weasel out of the 'triggers' that cut their beloved defense spending too.

Many years ago, when we were going to reap the benefits of peace with the Soviet Union, there was a pie chart showing the cost of the real live boots-on-the-ground troops - rations, housing, medical care and supplies.

That pie chart showed that compared to MIC the troops didn't get diddly squat. Maybe cost 5 to 7 percent of the MIC's budget.

This is not about the troops, we could pay, feed and supply the troops by canceling the F45 disaster. No loss except to the MIC and its owned congress people.

It will all be crying about the "troops" when about 6 senators and 25 congressmen ever pretended to care about the "troops."

Why are my brothers and sisters homeless and unemployed, living on the streets in the richest country on earth? The MIC.
