PSA

If you haven't "upgraded" to Firefox 4.0 yet, don't.

One reason is I hate having to remove this:

After inserting a link. Piece of shit. I'm gonna go back to 3.xx when I get the time.

BOHICA* ...

Another "no shit" moment, but it hits home when it's quantified:

Fucking workers. Stealing caviar right out of the mouths of the children of the parasitic filthy rich. Can't something be done?

Something has been.

...

*Bend Over Here It Comes Again.

Are you happy to see me ...

Big "no shit" factor here, but it does explain the behavior of a lot of conservatives:

...

When viewing lesbian sex and straight sex, both the homophobic and the non-homophobic men showed increased penis circumference. For gay male sex, however, only the homophobic men showed heightened penis arousal.

Heterosexual men with the most anti-gay attitudes, when asked, reported not being sexually aroused by gay male sex videos. But, their penises reported otherwise.

Homophobic men were the most sexually aroused by gay male sex acts.

Just a note: I now know more about the "device" they use to measure male sexual arousal than I ever needed, or wanted, to.

Thanks to Tata for the link.

It better pass ...

This time. I might like Governor Cuomo II if he gets this through:

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) sent New York's gay marriage bill to the state legislature Tuesday, effectively kicking the state's battle over marriage equality into high gear in the last week of the legislative session.

Capital Tonight reports that it will be ready for a vote in about three days.

...

Supposedly he has the votes. Let's hope the "World's Most Useless Deliberative Body"* doesn't fuck it up.

*The New York State Assembly and Senate.

It writes itself ...

I hope the "Frothy Mixture" stays in the race for a while. Those of us with an inner 9 year old (like me) are gonna be giggling for months over stuff like this.

Hell with war crimes ...

Can we just get the Chimp and Cheney for grand theft*?

Reporting from Washington — After the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in March 2003, the George W. Bush administration flooded the conquered country with so much cash to pay for reconstruction and other projects in the first year that a new unit of measurement was born.

Pentagon officials determined that one giant C-130 Hercules cargo plane could carry $2.4 billion in shrink-wrapped bricks of $100 bills. They sent an initial full planeload of cash, followed by 20 other flights to Iraq by May 2004 in a $12-billion haul that U.S. officials believe to be the biggest international cash airlift of all time.

...

Useta be we airlifted necessary supplies. I guess, when dealing with the Neocons, money is the answer to everything.

...

For the first time, federal auditors are suggesting that some or all of the cash may have been stolen, not just mislaid in an accounting error. Stuart Bowen, special inspector general for Iraq reconstruction, an office created by Congress, said the missing $6.6 billion may be "the largest theft of funds in national history."

...

At the least, they're co-conspirators.

Quote of the Day

The general consensus among the three people the Rude Pundit spoke to is that last night's Republican presidential debate was a dull, boring spectacle of watching idiots suck the farts out of each other's anuses.

Wasn't the old meaning of 'snark' someone who farted in the bathtub and popped the bubbles with their tongue? The Repugs are stickin' to the old ways for sure!

Our idiot ...

No, the other one. Peter King is holding more "Scare the Seniors" hearings:

WESTBURY, N.Y. - (AP) -- Members of several New York organizations Tuesday decried the next round of hearings by Rep. Peter King on what he calls the radicalization of the Muslim-American community.

King, who heads the House Homeland Security Committee, has scheduled a Wednesday hearing in Washington focusing on radicalization in U.S. prisons. He said he plans to call several law enforcement experts to testify on recent examples of terrorist recruitment among inmates.

...

You'd think, if King wants to talk about radicalization in the prisons, he'd be talking about white supremacists and street gangs. But no, he's talking about Muslims of course. Looks to me like more in the Republican Party have undergone "radicalization" in the last 10 years than have American Muslims.

Anthony Weiner Taking Leave Of Absence To Seek Treatment

Yo, Tony, have 'em put some desensitizing creme on that thing so it'll relax and let your blood flow back to your brain. And stay in 'treatment' for a while. We got more important things to talk about out here than your dick.

What Americans Want: The People’s Budget

We're not seeing very much about the Progressive Caucus Budget. It makes more sense than the ones the media want to talk about which is probably why.

In These Times

The Congressional Progressive Caucus lays out a surprisingly popular vision of the future.

But as happens so often in the United States, the political and media establishments distort the public debate by accepting the right-wing’s framing. In this case that means the issue is simply deficits and spending cuts, not national needs and adequate revenue. In this context, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), the architect of the Republican budget plan, gets taken seriously when he proposes — with echoes of Vietnam — that we destroy Medicare in order to save it.

Consequently, the public is confused. More significantly, the corporate media give progressive alternatives short shrift, even though opinion polls show the public often supports such measures.

The corporate press, acting in its own self-interest, is loathe to report this fact.

Indeed, Obama is overly conservative.

Gee, ya think?

The People’s Budget, on the other hand, reflects the historical context. It is also more in tune with the sentiments of voters than either Ryan’s or Obama’s plan. Overwhelmingly, multiple polls show that voters oppose deep cuts in or radical transformation of Medicare (78 percent opposed in a Washington Post poll). By large margins, voters support a surcharge income tax on millionaires and billionaires, which is similar to the higher rates Rep. Schakowsky proposes (81 percent in a March NBC/Wall Street Journal poll). And a majority favors military spending cuts as a first step in deficit reduction (56 percent in the Post poll).

The People’s Budget is a lot more courageous, sensible and honest than either Ryan’s plan or Obama’s. It is a program that progressives and—if ardently championed—most Americans would support as a path not only to a responsible budget but also to a more prosperous, equitable future.

The drama queen media have made this a Ryan v Obama deal as a winner-take-all steel cage death match to the exclusion of better ideas. A three-way argument would confuse them and they for damn sure think it would confuse us. They're wrong and we will suffer for it.

Indeed he does!

Okay ...

I ain't done working on the blog yet but it's mosta the way there (I'm only halfway through the blogroll). Thank you for your patience ... except for Nucks and Rook who hadda be wiseguys, heh ... Hopefully done by the end of the day (thankfully it's raining and I got more done than I planned).

Maybe ...

You should just shut the fuck up.

Real nice of President Obama to put in his two cents on the whole Anthony Weiner issue. For a man who can't take a stand on anything to do with policy matters, who keeps his mouth shut when Republicans drag it in the dirt, this is the issue he chooses to take a firm stand on? Sometimes I wonder about this fucking guy. If he would have been this determined during the health care debate, we might have something resembling single-payer right now. The man has no balls when it counts, but he's sure willing to kick his own when they're down. Clown.

Don't tease the animal like that, throw the kid in. Heh ...

Further Thoughts

The other day I posted on Rep(rehensible) Rohrabacher (Moron - CA) calling for Iraq to reimburse us for the money we spent fuckin' the joint up.

Instead of invading a nation that never did anything to us, we'da been better off to take the $Trillions$ we wasted there and burn 'em on the White House lawn. At least some homeless persons, maybe some Vets included, woulda got warm.

Oh, that's right, doing anything for the homeless is collateral damage and to be avoided at all costs if it takes money that could better be borrowed and spent on the Military Industrial Complex.

The blogroll will be growing over the next couple days, back into the vast compendium of bloggy goodness it once was. Give me until the end of the week (I got close to 400 blogs to add) before you bitch to me one blog or another ain't on it. Next week I'll ask for your recommendations for blogs to add to the list.

And just an aside: Been looking for faucets for the master bath so I can cut the holes in the vanity top and get everything together. I haven't bought a faucet in 15 years. Knocked my prick in my watchpocket when I saw what they want for "designer" faucets. Looks like they slap a "designer series" or some shit sticker on it when they wanna sell the same piece of shit for more money. Either way I look at it, they're gonna get me for the better part of $300 bucks for the faucet and matching drain that won't leak on me in 2 years.

Working on stuff now, bear with me.

Update:

Looks like the view out Gordon's back door (as opposed to his aft end, heh ...). More tomorrow. Gotta sort out the blogroll and some other shit.

Unfortunately, I had to shitcan 7 years worth of comments. Sorry, but Blogger comments should be better than that Echo shit. I'll leave word verification up for a while and then I'll turn it loose. If I get too much spam, I'll turn it on again.

Update (Monday morning):

I went with this template instead because it loads a bit faster. Still working on the blogroll.

It's the PITS

My first trial of the season, the Hard Rock Trial, is coming up in a coupla weeks at the PITS property about 25 miles west of here. It's already been postponed once due to the lingering snowpack, Here's the access road as of May 21:

They cancelled a formal work party there this weekend, but there will be people there so I'm going to take my trusty Royal Enfield* and hie myself thence to see what's going on. See yas.

*From my SoCal YouTube buddy hoohoohoblin.

Update:

Checking out road conditions to the PITS property. It was impassable just a couple of weeks ago due to deep snow. Still some soft spots but OK. I thought there was a working party, but my instincts saved me again. It was yesterday.

Thanks to me.
