University of Nevada, Reno Seismological Lab reports 3.5 quake in Wells, Nev.
I think the earth moving in Wells is no big deal. It's the locale of the closest legal brothels to Salt Lake City, a few minutes from the closest casinos.
It's unusual for it to register on the Richter equipment 300 miles away, though. Musta been a busload of chubby Saints,er, unloading at the ol' Hacienda. Or maybe they were doin' a little ranching. More action in the bunkhouse than in the ol' corral, I betcha. Heh.
Just as an aside, the "ranch's" other location in Battle Mountain, formerly known as The Calico Club, is the only Nevada brothel I've ever actually been in. I had to go there years ago to collect a local gal who skipped out on her court date after I loaned her some money for bail and put me on the hook for the bond amount. Nicest people you could imagine. Gave me ice water and souvenirs. Here's an actual bumpersticker. As you can see, it was too long for my scanner.
Just what I'd want on my bumper in the tabernacle parking lot. Heh.

It's amazing how much I lernt from you over the years on the Nevada cathouse business, old man. Heh ...
I simply believe in legal prostitution and, for all its faults, Nevada leads the way.
The Saints at the tabernacle would be understanding. It's the Lady Saints that get all bothered by that.
Good point. Heh.
I use to talk to those young lady Sunday school teachers on the CB when passing through Wells in my truck driving days. Such nice young ladies.
I was safe as I always had Ms Oldfool with me.
I was only in that brothel twice. The first time I thought the madam was the worst one that I had ever met.
The second time, two young (13 to 15) boys from Salt Lake City were trying to get laid.
I have never seen anyone so understanding but firm in a sexual situation as the madam. She actually had them feeling good about themselves when they left for not having "dated" a prostitute.
Weird place.
Olffool, you weren't far off the mark. I do believe it's possible to have a "religious experience" in those joints if you have enough money. The one in Battle Mountain is only a block off I-80, plenty of truck parking, and I think they take ComChecks. Heh.
The story says "formerly Calico Club." The place was sold and renamed Calico Club and is now being run by a nasty thing named Karmen Leigh and her dogs.
