What's $1mil ...

Between friends? Nothing if you're the Frothy Mixture telling a mother she should be glad to pay a million dollars a year for prescription drugs to keep her kid alive.

...

The mother replied that she could not afford her son's medication, Abilify, which can cost as much as $1 million a year without health insurance.

"Look, I want your son and everybody to have the opportunity to stay alive on much-needed drugs," Santorum insisted. "But the bottom line is, we have to give companies the incentive to make those drugs. And if they don't have the incentive to make those drugs, your son won't be alive and lots of other people in this country won't be alive."

"He’s alive today because drug companies provide care," the candidate continued. "And if they didn’t think they could make money providing that drug, that drug wouldn’t be here. I sympathize with these compassionate cases. … I want your son to stay alive on much-needed drugs. Fact is, we need companies to have incentives to make drugs. If they don’t have incentives, they won’t make those drugs. We either believe in markets or we don’t."

Fucking heartless scumbag. Sometimes I wish there was a Heaven and Hell so these sanctimonious, self-righteous hypocrites would end up where they belong. Look up the definition of 'motherfucker' in the dictionary and you'll find this shitbag's picture.

Agree with everything said about Santorum. The Crooks and Liars post was a little strange: the boy had a rare genetic disorder and his medication was Abilify? Abilify (heavily advertised on TV) is an atypical anti-psychotic also used for depression and anxiety disorders. It is expensive without insurance, but nowhere near $1 million/year.

Okay, I followed the C&L post through to the original ABC news story. Santorum's child has a rare genetic disorder, not the mother's boy. The boy has schizophrenia and is on Abilify. I love Crooks and Liars, but they should read their source stories a little more closely.

Nice to know that Frothy thinks a corporation's precious profits are more important than a human life.

Yeah, he's all heart, like most of his type. They're all concerned about life before birth, but after that, it's "Fuck you, Jack, I got mine..."

Due to Medicare Part D, Bush's taxpayer swindle for Big Pharma, I pay about $17 every three months for my blood pressure medicine which is working well, thank you. I think it saves me about $100. I also have a $20 co-pay when I go to the doctor every six months to get the scrip renewed.
