I've seen Jim Wallis on TRMS. He's an actual good Christian. Maybe even a little liberal.
It's time - past time - that these folks come out against the haters that are trying to pass themselves off as Xtians and make them look bad.
There are actually quite a few ministers and practicing Christians (who have actually read the New Testament) who try to speak about morality and Christianity not paralleling current political thought but they don't get any play on the news or cable shows. Possibly because they (1) make sense and (2) use text based references that are accurate. Boring, you know.

The Republican Religious Right despises Jim Wallis.
Y'know, that Jesus dude said some pretty cool stuff, what with that heal the sick and help the poor and the rich are damned to Hell bit. Too bad nobody ever actually, like, follows what he said in real life. Well, mostly, anyhow. Even the official God-botherers seem to be too busy diddling children and accumulating huge amounts of wealth to bother with following that Jesus dude's advice.
