Missile contrails from Vandenberg AFB were a fairly common sight in L.A. years ago. The best ones were the ones that went crazy, followed shortly by a lovely explosion!

Note to Chinese/North Korean/Iranian submarine designers: Don't put the button for jettisoning the garbage next to the one for the missiles. It confuses the mess cooks.
