Will wonders never cease?

Yertle finally said something I agree with!

McConnell backs hemp legalization in Kentucky

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Thursday announced his support for hemp legalization in Kentucky.

“After long discussions with Senator Rand Paul and [Kentucky Agriculture] Commissioner James Comer on the economic benefits of industrialized hemp, I am convinced that allowing its production will be a positive development for Kentucky’s farm families and economy,” he said in a statement.
Of course, Kaintuck is setting up for a fight with the feds over this that is exactly the same as the fight over legal marijuana, but it's a good fight whose time has come.

Industrial hemp was a major farm crop as late as WWII. Most of the plant has commercial application and should be legal. No need to worry about smoking it. It would be like smoking dried cowshit compared to current available product.

One wonders how birdseed slipped through the cracks.

What Montag said.
Up here in Canada we had a local farmer who grew a small plot of hemp as an experiment for the local "Centre for Plant Health" (government agricultural station). Never finished it because a bunch of local kids sneaked in and tore it all up to take home and dry.
All they would have gotten was headaches and voices like Brenda Vaccaro.
Up here we have "hemp shops" that have nothing to do with MJ (though we have those too) that sell clothing, paper, soap, oil etc. all made from hemp fiber.
