PHOENIX — Tough-talking Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio is warning civilians who embark on armed patrols in remote desert terrain that they could end up "seeing 30 rounds fired into them" by one of his deputies.Yeah, like that'd be a big loss. Heh. Go read the rest.
His unapologetically terse comments came Tuesday after a member of an Arizona Minuteman border-watch movement was arrested over the weekend for pointing a rifle at a Maricopa County sheriff's deputy he apparently mistook for a drug smuggler.
"If they continue this there could be some dead militia out there," Arpaio said.

Actually, the deputy exercised amazing restraint. I'd have put two in the center-of-mass upon hearing, "You aren't taking my weapons," and seeing an assault weapon pointed at me.
Heh. Like I said, Sheriff Joe reserves being armed assholes harassing Messicans for *his* armed assholes harassing Messicans. Private assholes need not apply.

bearsense, methinks if the gun pointer/wannabe border tough had been OTW I bet that's exactly what would have happened.
Bt, there's certainly no dearth of assholes worthy of the title around there, public and private.
It used to be called reaping the whirlwind. Arm everyone, whip them into a frenzy, and then wonder why they're dangerous to everyone.
