Saturday Emmylou Blogging

Published on Nov 23, 2013

This is how I interpreted Emmylou Harris' song "Red dirt girl" in painted pictures. First I drew the story about the girl on sheets of paper, then I coloured it with water colour painting, and finally I corrected the colours in photoshop. I tried to bring up a very gloomy feeling in the last pages, and I hope the leaves illustrate her situation well. Lots of work, and I really hope you like it!

An interesting noir treatment. Yes, I like it. She got a '49 Indian Arrow pretty close too.

Thanks to Aina Rønningen.

This was beautiful! And so describes life for so, so many rural people.
