The Ostroy Report
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and make an early prediction that Jon Huntsman Jr. is going to be the Republican nominee for president in 2012. By all accounts, the odds are I will be proven wrong. But I'm not so sure. I think the former Utah governor and Ambassador to China truly stands an excellent chance of winning.
I've been saying this for a while. Welcome to the limb, Andy. Nice view, huh?

In the end, what it boils down to is this: will early primary and caucus voters ultimately dump the wild girls and bring a nice girl home to mama? Huntsman's smart, witty and squeaky-clean, and with his impeccable bi-partisan credentials, diplomatic and foreign policy expertise, and moderate positions he just may be the prom queen voters want to send up against President Obama next November. On paper, Huntsman certainly has the best chance of beating him.
Luckily for us, the Dead End Quarter places no value on quality or reality or intelligence in a candidate, only ideology, which their candidates are lying about anyway. The DEQ should get 'Obama 2012' bumperstickers because they're the ones that will make it possible.
Unless they wise up. To be charitable, I think they have a, er, 1% chance of that. And oh yeah, the 1% will be picking their nominee, not them. For once in her worthless life, The Skank Of Whom There Is No Skanker Coulter was right and praise God, "...we'll get Romney, then we'll lose".

No shit. Huntsman was always the one who scared me. I'm praying the goobers don't come to their senses until one of the others gets the nomination.
H'mm I was thinking that just the other day. This may be a strategy. Put the elderly, batshit crazies, and "know it all's" out there then spring a guy that talks intelligently and has no skeletons in the closet. He must scare the hell out of the fringe crazies. The big problem is he is 10 times smarter than George W.
No problem I won't vote for a Republican ever based on their current image. I may not vote for one of those spineless, scatterbrained Democrats either.
Have you read Huntsman's wikipedia page? He sounds like a wet dream for the deregulation squad.
