That'e exactly all I have to say about that, but ... that said,
This is so good on so many levels! From the Sydney Morning Herald.
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been offered an Aboriginal Nations passport in an inner-city Sydney ceremony after he was "abandoned" by Australian authorities.
...
The group that organised Saturday's ceremony, the Indigenous Social Justice Association, wants recognition of Aboriginal sovereignty.
...
The passport will now be sent to Mr Assange in London.
Well and good. Now let's see Mr. Assange get out of London on it. Heh. /snark.
So we have a people who make a point about their claim to sovereignty by doing something sovereign like a nation would do. Took some smart Ab ta come up with that!
Native Americans claim sovereignty and open up casinos.
Native Australians claim sovereignty and help free a political prisoner half the world away. Whatever happens next on that, good on yer, mates! Damn good start.
I bet we hear more about this.
