WHATCOM COUNTY - The FBI wants to know who checked out a book from a small library about Osama Bin Laden. But the library isn't giving out names, saying the government has no business knowing what their patrons read.

Yes, indeed. The new Minutemen are the librarians. As the Bush administration prepares to spin book burning in a way the True Believers will swallow whole without question, the Brownshirts are already beginning a preemptive strike against free speech. Thank God the librarians are willing to fight.
